About:
She's had a hard life and has hardened to protect herself against it. She's flawed. Human. Yet basically has superpowers because of the nanites attached to her organs that won't allow her to die or be killed.

With all her flaws, she still has a heart of gold and if you've shown yourself to be a good person, she'll stand up for and protect you until her dying breath.

Eloise has a hairless, piebald cat named Bali that was her sister's when they were younger and inherited the feline after Ada's tragic death. Her favorite color is black, hates waiting (and as a result has little to no patience), loves the forest.

About:
When he lost his family to various tragedies common in a post-apocalyptic world, his paternal uncle took him in and taught him how to survive.

After his uncle was taken from him as well, Bannack turned to Joy Ward, the only option he felt he had, and became a terrifying presence in the area.

When he meets Eloise by chance, the woman he was friends with when they were kids, he doesn't believe he can come back from what he'd done.

Bannack's weapons of choice are dual-wield axes and his father's akrafena. He loves cooking and the color yellow. Is deaf in one ear from a fight injury.

At first, she wasn't evil. It took many, many years of hard work without any progress and her son being diagnosed with a fatal brain disease to bring her to the point she is in the book. Manipulative, grudge-holding, and willing to do anything to save her dying son, including experimenting on innocents collected for her by Bannack and his team.

Before all that, she was Eloise's parent's coworker, working with them to develop a nanite-based cure for Alzheimer's and various other brain diseases.

The only thing she loves, in her own twisted way, is her son Seth.
